Each year Batala Lancaster members vote for a charity to support through fundraising gigs and events, and this year we will be raising money for PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide.
PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide is the UK charity dedicated to the prevention of suicide and the promotion of positive mental health and emotional wellbeing in young people.
The charity provides confidential help and advice to under-35-year-olds who are suicidal and provide training to professionals in preventing suicide. They also campaign to influence national policies in relation to mental health and well-being.

- Saturday, 9 September, at Salt Ayre Leisure Centre, playing at CogSet cycle club’s annual open day. The club is a huge supporter of Papyrus after one of their young cyclists, Kyle Lewis, took his own life in 2016.
- Sunday, 10 December – a festive busking gig in Market Square, Lancaster.
- Sunday, March 17 2024 – Busk at the Glebe, Bowness
