2026 Charity Update

Batala Lancaster has adopted a charity each year. Any member can nominate a charity, and members vote at our AGM to decide which one we will support for the next year.

To date, our adopted charities have been:

2017 – St John’s Hospice Lancaster
2018 – Blue Skies Hospital Fund, Blackpool
2019 – Lancashire MIND
2020/2021 – RNLI (extended due to COVID)
2022 – Lake District Search and Mountain Rescue
2023 – PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide UK
2024 – CancerCare
2025 – St John’s Hospice

Last year, we raised £910 for St John’s Hospice on our Just Giving page, through raffles and charity bucket collections at gigs, and two of our members did their own personal challenges in aid of the hospice, with Sharon completing the Great North Run, and Joanne completing the 100km in September challenge.

At our AGM in January, members chose our 2026 charity: Lancaster & District Homeless Action Service.
